In 1978, Hollywood released ‘Capricorn One’ a fictional drama/thriller about a series of faked Mars missions, which many feel was an allegory for the Apollo program’s fakes.
I actually scored a copy from Netflix a few years back. It wasn’t a bad movie. The first hour was a taught thriller about faked space missions, but it went sharply downhill after that into a bunch of 1970’s style chase scenes featuring film hacks Elliott Gould, James Brolin, Sam Waterston, OJ Simpson and Telly Savalas.(Who loves ya, baby?)
